The KZ Run Around Zlin
As Tomas Bata wrote in his memoirs, the foundation of his shoe factory in Zlin in 1894 was a pure juvenile thoughtlessness.
Too many hills around and not a river to speak of. Bad means of transport. Good conditions for running.
Running around. Running around Zlin. Thirty one kilometres up and down.
I cannot speak for Martin Sadilek and Tomas Zrnik, but to me the foundation of The KZ Run Around Zlin (BKZ) in 1991 was a brilliant idea.
It needed some refinement though. After the first annual in 1991 we decided, that refreshment would be fine.
Since that our friends and family members wait in the middle of the course, and at other places too, to present us with their Christmas delicacies.
Speaking of Christmas, we moved the D-Day from December 24th to the closest Saturday and later on to the closest Sunday before December 24th.
In the year 2000 we celebrated the 10th anniversary with reversing the direction of the course.
Nowadays we change the direction every year, so everybody has a chance to enjoy all parts of the route.
Strictly speaking, the BKZ is considered a non-racing run. At least in the beginning. Well, come and see for yourself on December 23rd !

Running Graduation
There_are four disciplines to be accomplished in four days. This year it was from Friday, October 12th to Monday, October 15th.
To graduate you must gain grades 4 or better in each of the disciplines. The order is free.
You may repeat disciplines, you may run more of them in a single day.
